ABOUT US

Why We're Different

We want to capture the client’s essence in the design. You could say that the client is our inspiration. The colors they are drawn to, their dreams for the space, the function of the space, and the client’s expectations for the design all provide insight and inspiration. It is with this mindset that we create a bespoke interior. At the end we want the room to reflect the client so it truly feels like their home.

How We Work

Once we have direction from the client, we start with a floor plan. The plan will consist of all items necessary to complete the design. When the plan is approved by the client, we order. When every piece of the design is ready, we set a date for installation. We ask that the client leave the home on the day of installation so when they return, they walk into their fully appointed space. Our designs make our clients’ lives, more comfortable, more organized, and more of a reflection of who they are.

C'mon over!

Our showroom in Bernardsville can provide the perfect setting for exploring ideas about how to design your space! Our library of wallpaper books, window covering books, fabric samples, and paint decks can be just the inspiration you need to share your thoughts about your interiors project.

David Hinson

Founder and Designer

Growing up in the South, I admired the great architect Neel Reid. Whenever I was inside one of the many homes he designed near my hometown, I studied every aspect: the way one room led to another, the height of the ceiling, the millwork, the windows and doors, and all of the finishing details. This was the beginning of my passion for art and design.

Reid worked in the classical style but with new interpretations, making his creations luminous and gracious. It was this kind of evolution of design that I studied closely at The Corcoran School of Art and Design and Sotheby’s Art Institute in London. I was fascinated by how the dark, heavy Baroque period led into the light and organic Rococo period; the Arts and Crafts movement was a reaction to the Victorian Industrial Age; and on through Mid Century Modern and all its responses to Art Deco. The most successful rooms are layered with pieces that honor great design no matter the period, and today we can embrace it all. We design rooms that have roots in the past with a fresh, twenty-first century approach, and always in keeping with the homeowner’s aesthetic. We all respond differently to color and form. We all have very personal preferences for how we utilize a space. It’s my job to discern those differences and to design with the client’s perspective in mind. Each resulting design is truly a bespoke interior.
